North Fort Myers is on the north side of the Caloosahatchee River opposite of Fort Myers. Fort Myers has a long history dating back to the Seminole Indian Wars of the 1840’s. Fort Myers grew to become a winter vacation resort community over the next one hundred years. The arrival of Thomas Alva Edison and his friends put Fort Myers on the map of winter destinations. Today, we still enjoy beautiful winter weather and many seasonal residents plus a vital Spring Baseball season featuring the Boston Red Socks and the Minnesota Twins.

North Fort Myers swells to triple it’s summer residency during “the season” but still maintains its small town southwest Florida feel. Many of the residents are older retired adults who have moved to the area to enjoy an active retired life of sports, social events and community service. We have included some additional links to community life and information.
